5B residential – final day
There are only a few photos today, mainly of the walk to the Ribblehead viaduct and then on to the river study, although the sandwich making skills deserved a few pics!
This morning, we headed out in two groups to walk from either end of a route from the viaduct to Chapel-le-dale. From the western end, one group followed the beck (now dried out) to see the erosion and deposition that has occured and follow the meandering course it takes until meeting up and swapping with the second group. They had heard a little of the history of the building of the viaduct and then thought about how the land was used today, along with the industries it now supports.
After lunch back at the lodge, we set off home. The children were, as always, delightful on the trip back and on Mr Beevers’ bus, never stopped chatting and singing for a second.
It has been an absolute pleaure to have been away with 5B and we all hope they have a good night’s sleep and are fresh for the week off.
If you have any extra items brought home, could you bring them in next half term and we will put them in a lost property pile so they can be reunited with their owner. There were a few items already in the studio at the end of the day so can be collected when school opens again.
Finally, the staff of 5B and 5KH have to say a big thank you to Mrs Hawkhead and Mrs du Preez for their amazing efforts this week. The residentials would not have taken place without their hard work.
