2La Skelton Grange
We had a brilliant day out today at Skelton Grange. The morning was spent searching for minibeasts in the different habitats around the grounds. We found lots of creepy crawlies in the woodland habitat, including a newt, as well as the usual beetles, slugs and spiders. There were lots of interesting things living in the pond including water scorpions, toad tadpoles, dragonfly nymphs, pondskaters, waterboatmen and baby newts. After a lovely picnic lunch, we spent the afternoon playing in the woods with dens, hammocks, creating tracks, rope swinging and the mud kitchen. I’m sure the children will have lots to say about it.
