23/5/25 Happy half term

Well done to all of Year 6 for reaching the shortest but busiest half term of the year. We are very proud of all you hard work and you have earned a well-deserved rest.

Writing

This week, we’ve been hard at work – crafting one descriptive scene and a complaint for TripAdvisor. We focused on improving our language choices and worked especially hard to up-level our adjectives. Some of us even added a touch of sass to our complaints to bring humour and really entertain the reader. These brilliant pieces will be published after the half term, once the final drafts are complete. Let’s just hope none of us ever have to stay in those hotels!

End of year show!

As you can imagine, allocating roles for 56 children in the show is no easy task. We have done our very best to accommodate all of the children’s requests, though we do understand there may be some disappointment. Scripts have been sent home today, and we hope that children can return after the holiday having learned their lines. This will make a big difference to the smooth running of the show. Once we’re back in school, we’ll begin working on the actions, dancing, and singing together.

We hope you have a lovely half term and will see you in a week!
