Trip to Armley Mill

This week the children visited Armley Mill as part of their current history topic. During the day, the children had a tour of the museum, a workshop linked to the life of children working in the mill and an informative walk down the canal looking at a range of Industrial Revolution points. The children enjoyed the day and asked lots of sensible questions. We were even able to visit the mill owner’s cottage, which was very well equipped compared to the workers.

Transition / optional homework task where you could win a prize!

This week at school we took part in a huge event focused on transition called ‘We’re Off To the Big School’. It was a fun afternoon filled with lots of advice for the children.

This week’s homework is a one-off activity to complete at home with your child. It is part of the national We’re Off To the Big School transition programme, created by Tree of Knowledge in partnership with Crescent Purchasing Consortium.

The lesson includes a short video, simple activities and great conversation starters to help you reflect on primary and prepare for secondary together.

At the end, you can fill out an optional feedback form if you wish to be entered into a prize draw.
