Farsley Farfield Primary School

Headteacher blog May 28th 2021

This has been a week when some elements of school life have felt to be getting back to a more ‘normal’ feel but, at the same time, we have had a jolt of the new reality with two ‘bubbles’ bursting at a really bad time for the half-term holiday.

The return to normality has included our Y6 children attending a cross country event (three of our boys were first, second and third!) and Y5 going off-site for mountain bike training. I am also approving plans for lots of school trips and residentials happening next half term. It was good to ‘see’ almost 40 families at our Y5 Residential Parents’ Meeting: a significantly higher attendance than is usual for that meeting. Remote meetings are, I think, here to stay.

Enjoy the half term break and some lovely weather on its way.  Thank you to all staff and pupils for their hard work and I look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday 8th June.

Thank you all for a wonderful, calm and settling half term. You all work so hard behind the scenes to make school normal and fun for the kids. It’s really appreciated and we can really see the positive effects of being back with you in our family.
