Farsley Farfield Primary School

Another lucky Camp-Over day (and night, and morning…)

Our brilliant PTA and an expanding group of fabulous volunteers put on another wonderful Camp-Over weekend and we were, once again, lucky with the weather. Whether camping or day visitors, everyone seemed to have a great, relaxed time and the children played and played and played.

We were well entertained by the Farsley Singers, Sebastopher (inc our own very talented Mr Sharp), Elaine and her sheepdogs and by Matthew Tiffany: juggler extraordinaire! The food supplied by the kitchen was really tasty and the cake donations were overwhelming and delicious! The workers on stalls such as nails, face painting and henna tattoos did a great job. Many thanks too to Miss Purfield for her adventure trail in the infant Conservation Area which will also get used by Y1 this week.

There are too many volunteers to name and thank everyone individually and I would run the risk of omission and offence. Suffice to say I am very grateful to all the people who gave up their time to help make the Camp-Over such as success again. The Camp-Over has developed into a significant community event (the loud music late into the night was a party across the ring road and not us!) and it also raises valuable funds for school. The bottom line for this event is still being worked out but the PTA are already funding new playground markings in the juniors, the mobile PA we used on Saturday, new balance bikes in Foundation Stage and are making a £9,000 donation towards the new minibus that we are awaiting. Brilliant!

Some photos from the event are below:
