Farsley Farfield Primary School

Head teacher blog 19th December 2015

We have come to the end of a long and successful term. Attendance over the term was 97% which is good and shows how much the children enjoy coming to school! This week, we have enjoyed rousing Christmas performances across the school and now the children and staff can all look forward to well-earned Christmas and New Year holidays with their families.

We said goodbye to three children who are moving schools over the holidays – good luck and best wishes to them – and we said goodbye to Mrs Fisher who has had to leave her post at Farfield due to caring commitments. Mrs Fisher has been a Farfield phenomenon in her three years with us and she will be greatly missed. Mrs Young has also ‘retired’ from Y5 but will be helping us out by returning on most Tuesdays next term to support in Reception. Mrs Young’s great organisational skills, flexibility, generosity of spirit and good humour will also be missed greatly in the Juniors.

Today Miss Stewart is getting married and our very best wishes go to her and to Vin. An exotic honeymoon beckons…

Many thanks for the cards and gifts that I received this week. Have a great Christmas and we will see everyone again in the new year.

We are sorry Mrs Fisher has had to leave. She will be very much missed.

Best of luck to Miss Stewart and her husband-to-be. We hope they have a fantastic day today and very happy future together.

    Merry Christmas!
