Farsley Farfield Primary School

Head teacher blog 15/11/2014

Despite the rainy weather, we have fad a fabulous Children in Need day: many thanks for everyone’s generosity!  This week also saw poignant commemorations for Remembrance Day and the 100 year anniversary of World War 1. A number of classes made wreaths and visited the memorial in the village, whilst older children learnt about the causes and experience of the war.  Many children wrote their own moving poems and there was real engagement with this work across the school.  It has also been another busy week for educational visits with Year 1 attending the Bradford Media Museum (a local gem!) and 5/6T going to The Armouries.

I’ve really enjoyed having the opportunity to work with the Year 2 Cycling Club. The children have been so enthusiastic and have made so much progress that it has been really worth while. I’ll look forward to having a few more weeks with them in February.

Thank you so much for your support of this group Lydia! We love cycling at Farfield and so much of that is your legacy!
